F2A after citizenship approval
hello everyone, I filed I-130 for my about a year ago, and I joined the millitary and just became a citizen. how long will it take for my son to get approved? does it make a difference by being in the millitary? please help

Being in the Military gives your case faster approval only when they get to it for review. I’m in the Military and a citizen as well file for my kids i130 but yet to get approval since Oct 31st 2024, just trying to get it approved too so they can get direct citizenship since they haven’t clocked 14 yet

@Abi Ken and do you know how long it would take? Someone was telling me its more than 1year even with millitary. which was kinda dissappointing

being in the military doesn't change anything except your son will move from f2a to cr1

@mimi mimi Yes I had to contact USCIS in Fort Cavazos where I’m stationed through the forum they hold every Wednesday for Soldiers interested in Naturalization and they said the priority is for the soldiers but once they open the case to review they decide on it faster been a family to a military personnel.
@Mike Raphone it’s 1R-2 if the child is under 18 years

@Abi Ken since sept 2024. but I was only a green card holder. I just got my citizenship last week
