F-1 student visa vs Vawa
I m an f-1 student and I have a Vawa case.
I am trying to take some online classes but the school is not letting me take more than 1 class because they are using my international student status. I already have a prima facie. I am still paying tuition for international student which is very expensive.
Now my advisor is asking me if I want to cancel my f-1 status?
should I cancel my f-1 status and stay with the Vawa only? Vawa is still pending.
I would appreciate any advice.

leave f1 and focus on Vawa. you will get sooner if you have filled proper documents. not just few papers

I filed Vawa properly and I have a prima facie. With the F-1 it is very expensive school tuition. I no longer have the money to pay. I filed for my work permit in June, it hasn’t been approved yet. I struggle.

try and put in for FAFSA with your prima facie first if you got approved then pay your tuition

DO NOT DO THAT!
Vawa is not a status. That’s why most people apply for 485 too.
Do not lose your status because you don’t know if you’ll get another one through vawa.
If your case get denied, you’re out of status and that will cause you more trouble.
I was an F1 too.
DO NOT make the same mistake! DO NOT CANCELL YOUR F1 status.

fasfa required social security number. I applied for the work permit in July and it’s not approved yet. I will try to keep. 😣
