F-1 OPT EAD or EB-3 EAD
I am an RN with employment with a hospital. During my employment with the hospital last year I use my CPT from my masters in clinical research program. my CPT ended in April 2026, I submitted my OPT application but still waiting for approval.
On the other hand my employer submitted my AOS in April 2026 and got EAD approval. So, my question is: what is the risk of me activating my EB-3 EAD on my F-1 status?
Do you guys suggest I wait for my OPT EAD or I can go ahead to activate my EB-3 EAD?
I will appreciate any suggestions 🙏
NB. my PD is 05/13/2026 although my I-140 is yet to be approved.

activate Eb3 ead? if it’s on your hand you already using it. in the system it doesn’t matter what are you using as long as you have active ead (opt or eb3).

once you use eb3 was you loose f1. I don’t know if they approve your f1 was but if you had already used eb3 was you should not use f1. behind the scene you are using same ssn to work so

Given that your I140 is still pending, you should wait and get your OPT EAD. If you use your EB3 EAD or any other benefits associated with the EB3, then you have nullified your F1 status

listen to SS and random eb3. If your I-140 was approved, you could risk it, otherwise it’s dangerous. Not sure what zigzag is talking about since you haven’t used the card in your employers I9
