Hi everyone, I need some advice. My H-1B is valid until October 16. I filed for an extension on September 4, and I have all the supporting documents.
However, USCIS later said they did not receive the package, so I re-sent the application in the first week of October. With the government shutdown situation, I’m not sure if I’ll receive the receipt notice on time.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? What happens to my status if the receipt doesn’t arrive before my current H-1B expires

USCIS shouldn’t been affected by the government shutdown. They’re funded by the filing fees we pay them. If the receipt date they register is before your expiration, then you should be fine.
