extension letter #I751
Dis anyone move after getting the extension letter for the conditional green card and need to travel internationally? I noticed that my extension letter has my old address and I am concerned about the information that doesn’t match when coming back to US. Is this going to be a problem? any advice will be welcome! thanks

I traveled with the extension letter and the expired green card twice . you still legally can. but not recommend now specially if it’s pending for more than two years cause you may get a response soon

You must make an Infopass appointment and pay for the stamps. This is not necessary because you can travel with the extension letter without any problem.

I will have a consultation with the lawyer tomorrow. For my acknowledgment, getting a stamp doesn’t make sense once I still have the extension letter. I haven’t lost or anything. The process of removal of conditions is taking so long, so it still printed with the old address.

@Eric Abdul But you current address still matches with the extension letter address? it’s pending for 1.6y. I will be out of country for 12 days.

@sandra catano no my address was different because I moved out and updated it my address online in Uscis website . mine is pending for 2.2 years. lawyers adviced to postpone any travel specially if you divorced . good luck

I do not see why the address on the letter even matter. My mailing address is different than my physical address!!! As long as I change my address within 10 days of moving, I do not see that should be a problem! The letter is valid for 48 months, I do not think USCIS expects me to stay in my address for that period! The letter is not attached to specific address! like your driver license is still vialid even if you no longer live in that address! You are a permanent resident and I do see why would you worry about traveling internationally! We went on cruise this summer and we had no issue with it! All the best! ( we have filled jointly, so do not know if waivers make a difference)

@Eric Abdul @Adam T I agree. I filled jointly, I am still married, and my husband is traveling with me. I think that way too about the address and letter. But things are so unpredictable right now that made me think about it. expecting my consultation with the lawyer tomorrow and see, since I have already paid anyway. thanks everyone!
