does he have a valid driver's license from his country, if yes, have him go with that (a friend did and had no issue) if no, have him go with the expired passport (and if any issue, he just would explain that been the only if he had) but I think (according to my friend) she said they were just about seeing an id nothing about validity

like I said, he just would have to explain to them why he has what he has, there is practically nothing he can do about having a valid Id if there isn't anyway of getting one

I had expired passport from another country at the time of my bio appointment so what I did is took the temporary driving license issued by my state with me for the appointment because I had not received my actual one in mail . it was accepted but in general I’m laughing because having take in bio in March this year has not made any frigging difference in terms of my application processing 😂

My husband went with an expired passport and we told them we couldn't get one because of the pandemic wait at the Embassy. They made us wait about 10 minutes while they got approval from the staff inside the office. The security checking for ids don't work for USCIS.

we did not honestly know they needed a non expired passport and he can not get a drivers license obviously so yeah it just literally expired 2 weeks ago and next week will be his 3rd week

Our lawyer said that an expired passport is fine. They just need to see some kind of id. He will be fine to go with expired passport.

They will not refuse you if you have a biometrics appointment. Make sure you take a copy of your appointment letter. You will be fine with the expired passport. @rene a

he has the original but it just expired Aug 21st we could of sent it normal but it will take months for it come back and we didn’t want to risk it god forbid it gets lost on the mail and they need proof of id there too overseas

no problem. just a thing that could help you maybe. I didn’t have any real id’s but the pictures. so I’m order to verify my birth date I provided them with my birth certificate for the DOB confirmation. so if you have that use it.

well may be because your situation is different his your id was lost but in this case because he has it it is just expired next week it will be 3 weeks and he can’t really renew it until he goes back home

anything you present there in a different language has to be translated but I don’t think that you’ll have a problem at all

@rene he should've done his state ID with the receipt notice of his pending I485... the receipt of state ID is valid as a state ID for 6 months. And with that receipt go to his biometric appointment. But no worries... let him take his country birth certificate with the expired passport. They will aloud him.
