Expired green card extension, I751 vs N400
#n400, #i751, #pending, #I751pending
Reading the phrase on n400 vs I751 got me wondering 🤔
on n400:
"this notice along with your permanent resident card, is evidence of your lawful permanent residence status for 24 months..."
on I751:
"this notice along with your conditional resident card, is evidence of your lawful permanent residence status for 48 months..."
Does this mean that upon filing n400 with a pending I751, the 24 months supercedes the 48? What happens if the 24 months pass and n400 is still being reviewed? Has anyone been in this situation?

@doug bay , I was. I just had my N400 interview today. I applied in May with pending 751. I travelled twice out of the US and I carried the 48month extension letter with no issues at all. I would think since your GC is most likely expired, you need to carry the 48 month letter

@a v , as long as you have your expired GC(or expiring) and the original letter, you should not have an issue at all . the airlines should be familiar with these
