I got denied twice already for a renewal that has been submitted for over 9 months now. My household has no income! and thats not a good enough reason it seems.

jessica you don’t have to talk to your lawyer, you need to find out who your senator or congress person is, just google it. They will have a website and a section “help with a federal agency”. You will have to sign a privacy release form and email it to them including all the paperwork. They will forward it to USCIS for a review and let you know when USCIS responds.
