@abbey through my attorney
tanzy flyMay 11, 2022
do you know he expedited @kat
………waiting still waiting…….May 11, 2022
kat@ what was your attorney name?
kat .May 11, 2022
for everyone: I had an attorney and a very iron clad vawa case with ALOT of hard evidence (not hearsay) that can can be proven. It was expedited because I was diagnosed with a very rare disease three months into submitting application that is life threatening (I just had major surgery because of it a week ago- recovering slowly) and my US born son is also disabled (I’m his carer)…. I also am on the front lines as a professional (sometimes this helps)- I am a PhD. it was granted on humanitarian reasons to provide stability for my family and seek intensive medical treatment. Note: every case is different, but you need a very good attorney and extremely good iron clad evidence to prove vawa cases.

kat .Aug 28, 2022
look up Ayuda, do intake (to determine eligibility) and apply for legal aid. I was on their wait list for 12mths. they have very long wait lists. good luck…. there is no cutting corners.

kat .Oct 20, 2022

c mNov 21, 2022
@kat did you go through senator or did you. directly send the expedite request to Vermont? how long after you submitted the expedite request, did they expedite?
kat .Nov 22, 2022
manpreet - read comments in this thread… I just told you I had only a lawyer…. I was assigned a legal aid lawyer after 9mths of waiting in 2020… expedite was completed by attorney who put the evidence and cover letter together to send to Vermont. My vawa visa was approved after expediting after 3mths. I have also expedited my I-485… I’m still waiting for any response. it’s been 7mths. If you have a lawyer, you need to talk to them about whether your case is appropriate for expediting. You can’t expedite based on the fact you want the process to speed up! uscis can deny your application if you are dishonest and cannot back up your story (no paper trail evidence- this makes your story stand out - a story based on personal hearsay and no evidence will take longer), delaying it even further.
for those here thinking that the using the “best” lawyer is going to make your application process speed up, believe me it won’t!!! Please also be aware that cases are seen case by case… your story is very different to mine. uscis have criterias that they stick to and use at their discretion. Honestly, my advice- you need a lawyer to help navigate and submit requirements… try not to complete applications by yourself, one mistake can lead to unnecessary delays or denial of application
c mNov 22, 2022
@kat I totally agree. I am in a similar or even worse circumstances and have hard core evidence, both as part of original application and even for expedite. hence I have been seeking more guidance. thank you for your ongoing guidance :) I will keep you posted as well
kat .Nov 22, 2022
@nyusa I am not an attorney- please consult with an immigration attorney to determine whether your case should be and is appropriate to be expedited. I cannot give you that answer
c mDec 24, 2022
hi @kat did you get notified that your expedite request is approved after the request was sent, or did you directly get a decision after 3 months of sending the request
kat .Dec 25, 2022
no i waited 3mths for a response for i360…. I’ve expedited my i485, 4mths ago, still no response.
