ESTA to B1/B2 visa
hello! has anybody tried entering the US on a visa waiver program, and then extending their stay by applying for a tourist visa while being in the US?

VWP travelers are not permitted to change or extend their temporary immigration status. The only mechanism to request a longer VWP stay requires an emergency which prevents a timely departure from the United States.
