pending I-485 Struggle
Hey yall, I have a question and wanted opinions from people who might relate. My employer has been acting kind of weird lately, and I honestly feel like they might be trying to take advantage of the fact that I’m not really in a position to leave right now. They’ve done some sketchy stuff before, especially right after my OPT expired. At the time I was on CPT and they were supposed to pay for my tuition. When i asked for the reimbursement , and they never agreed to cover the full tuition, replying in the same email chain where there’s literally an email saying they would cover it. That was last year , now they’re saying they want to lower my salary to match the number from the pwd because my utilization is “low,” which really doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve been with them for about four and a half years. My overall utilization is actually above the goal they set. Even in my first year out of college, I had 80% utilization when the goal was 65%. Every year I also mentor and train three to five people, usually including two interns in the summer which lower my utilization but even with that I’m still over the goal. I checked the system and it shows the overall utilization goal during my time here was 72 %, and my actual overall utilization is 77 %. They’re acting friendly on the surface, but at the same time it feels like they know I can’t easily leave and are coming up with reasons to justify cutting my pay. Do you think that they’re actually trying to take advantage of the situation or that’s kinda normal corporate stuff#
