EB2 ROW Cross-Chargeability
Hello!
I applied for I-485 AOS through Cross Chargeable through my Spuse’s Country of Birth (South Africa)
USCIS sent Application Receipt on August 5.
On Aug 13, my Spouse received RFE Notification for I-485 Application. Meanwhile, my I-485, I-765 and I-131 are all in Application Received Status.
I have two questions:
1. Will I have to wait for RFE to be Resolved for Me and My Spouse to get a Biometrics Appointment or is it something that happens in parallel while RFE is being processed?
2. Any idea what RFE Notice would be for? We sent our Marriage Certificates and Birth Certificates with the Application.

such immediate RFE would mean some basic documentary issues. missing fields, missing forms etc.
I filed under cross chargebility too.

Hi!
RFE Notice was for English Translation of Spouse’s Birth Certificate, which was strange. South Africa issues Birth Certificates only in 100% English. Anyway, I ended up hiring USCIS Certified English Translator who provided a Certificate of Translation along with Translated Document. Translated Document had Date listed in US Format MM-DD-YY instead of DD-MM-YY, the logo also which was in a foreign language was translated.
I responded to RFE on Aug-26 although it seems it had nothing to do with Biometrics Scheduling.
Both Me and My Spouse were scheduled for Biometrics on Sept 5. My EAD got approved by Sept 9 and was mailed within 2 Days. Waiting for Wife’s EAD-AP.
No Update on AOS Applications.

@A Balas No updates yet. I haven't received Ead/AP yet. Biometrics was given on Aug 07. I485 status as case is still being processed.

I had my 485j approved few days before they ran out of the EB2 visa numbers for the year..no updates since then. hopefully they pick it up immediately after new FY in October.

@A Balas i485j needs to be approved for EB2 prior to approving i485. From what I checked so far, it's usually approved just before i485 is approved. But my supp j got approved the same day they ran out of EB2 visas. so I suspect they were trying to approve but couldn't. so hoping that they will resume the pre-approved cases in October. fingers crossed.

I noticed API Event logged on Sept 19 but there is no Event Code associated with it. Do you know what it means?
I connected with Emma Live Agent and also USCIS Customer Care but I did not get any information from them.
