EB2 NIW interview
I will have my interview next Monday, in Hialeah, Fl. field office, despite the majority of cases the interview are been waived, I’m assuming I receive mine because I got 2 +18yrs old dependents and maybe they want to check birth certificates, etc.
Has anyone here got an Interview and if possible share any tips or suggestions for us.

@ C EB2 NIW, How was your interview? Can you please share some of the questions asked? Did you get a verbal approval for your I485?

here you go:
1) I went to the appointment with all my dependents (Wife and 2 sons +18yrs) our appointment was at 8:00am but we arrived at 7:35am and they allow us to enter.
2) The Security guards at the gate checked our appointment notices and the we went to Xray’s “airport style" security check: bags, all objects out from pockets, belt off, watch off, keys etc.
3) 1st. step inside: Receptionist checked our EAD’s and interview notices, they gave us one ticket with a number for all of us.
4) 2nd step: We went to another desk and they asked us again for our EAD’s and Interview notice, and then they took us a picture and scanned our index finger, after this they told us to wait for our number to be called.
5) 3rd step: An officer came to the door and called our number. She told me that only 3 persons are allowed in the office, my wife and myself decided to go first. My two sons waited for us in the waiting room.
6) Interview time: Made the Oat, asked me to sign a paper that I agreed to proceed without an attorney and then started with the principal applicant (me): She asked me for information about my I-140 (Resume, Studies History, Diplomas/Titles, Past job positions and Job description, Dates, My job Address), Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Resume, Current Job letter, Driver License, EAD. She didn’t go thru all YES/NO questions but just asked me the main or most critical ones. But then………. She asked me for me medicals………. I told her ...here there are…. and before she opened the sealed envelope, she mentioned me “Beginning the end of May the Hepatitis B vaccine is now Mandatory, let me see if your surgeon included it” and guess what I called my surgeon one week before and asked him “Hey is this Hepatitis B mandatory” and he reply me that “No” I haven’t received any notice about that.
Long story short …… The office told me “I see no issues in you I-485, but I will send you an RFE to include your Hepatitis B on your medicals. She told me it was going out today and actually I just got a notice from USCIS that an RFE has been issued, and she will try to adjudicated as soon as possible after I send the RFE response. (I will explain more of this at the end of this history) Finally signed the I-485 for with all the corrections.
7) She then started the interview with my wife, and asked routine questions, dates, address, port of entry, I-94, Birth certificate, EAD, Driver License, Parent DOB, and again didn’t went to all YES/NO questions, just general security questions and finish. Did the same with the medicals. Finally signed the I-485 for with all the corrections.
8) Then she escorted my wife to the waiting room and brought my two sons with me. She made the Oat to them and started the interview with basics bio questions, address, port of entry, Jobs, and asked them if they work or study. Then she asked for the medicals and same history. Finally signed the I-485 for with all the corrections.
9) She gave me a paper that an RFE will be issued.
Medicals Issue:
a) After we got out of the Field Office, we went to CVS to have the Hepatitis B vaccine which was free with our health insurance and then we went to the surgeon office to have our medicals forms filled again.
He didn’t charge us for this since it was his responsibility, he assumes that USCIS never notified them about this change.
b) Since an RFE has been issued now this is going to be received by my lawyer, I called him today and explain him about it, he says that I should not reply by myself the RFE, that I should send him my medicals and he will be the one sending the medicals to USCIS, he told me if we don’t do this there could be an issue like misrepresentation with USCIS or something about that. Tomorrow I will be sending my medicals to my lawyer to gain time, when he received my RFE he will be sending my medicals.
Conclusion …… HEPATITIS B delayed my Adjudication (maybe a one more month if I’m lucky)
