EB1 india green card approved in 5 months
Finally i got my green card along with my spouse's yesterday. Journey was definitely not easy for me to reach here. Started with EB2 NIW in 2021 which was pretty rigorous with a stong RFE i got for that. In the mean time was working very hard to build my profile, writing research papers, patents, reviewing research papers, etc. Basically slogged like crazy non stop since 2021. Convinced my company lawyers to apply for eb1, which was finally filed in august 2022. By then i had around 80 citations and had reviewed around 80-85 research papers from top journals in my field. Surprisingly my I1140 got approved in 21 days. My NiW I1140 was still not approved, which eventually got approved by end of 2022. EB1 india got retrogressed for my shock, but later i could port my eb2 niw priority date to eb1, which saved me from the retrogression!!
Long story short June 16th i get a notification saying my i485 was approved!!! Finally a big big relief!! Lawfully was very useful to keep track of my case.

hi @absh b ! congratulations.
Can you share how you ported your older priority date. And when that happened did you just get a notification that priority date has been applied to I140 or did you get a notification that it has been applied to I 485 too?

We basically sent my eb2 niw i1140 approval as well as eb1 i1140 approval along with the initial filing and added a statement asking them to port the priority date. The lawyer had also attached a uscis document that talks about the eligibility of portability. when i got my i485 filing receipt for eb1 filing, my niw priority date was updated in it. So i didnt get any seperate notification for the porting. my niw priority date was nov 2021.(Just within the feb 22 eb1 india PD!!!)

@absh b Uallll, congratulations! One question: when you applied for the Eb-1, didn't you file a new I-485? I understood that your lawyer asked for the I-485 to be interfiling from Eb-2 to Eb-1.
