I have been observing that EB1-A interviews are waived but looks like these days it’s happening or maybe it’s random who knows. I am also a EB1A applicant waiting on a pending I-485 @ TSC.

filed i-485 on September 06th. I was in the US when applied for EB-1

@ g b So you were in the job ? So I have heard, generally interviews were waived in EB1-A cases. if recently things have changed I am not aware of them.

yes, I’m currently working for the same employer at the time I filed my I-485. should I worry it was not waived?

@ g b Looks like nowadays they are not waiving the interviews for everyone and perhaps randomly calling for interviews. it’s nothing up worry, just take some suggestions from someone who attended here in the community or see some online videos , get some advice from your attorney etc

@ g b Did the company sponsor for your EB1A or you self petitioned and self sponsored ?

this is completely random. dont think too much. make sure you read again and again what you put in i485. memorize that. also make sure you know your marriage anniversary, place of the marriage etc.

Yes it’s random. It seems like 99% of interviews get approval. @ g b which os your service center ? TSC or NSC or NBC ?

My dependent is also waiting for an interview (EB1b). We were told that it is not unusual especially for dependents of EB applicants. what is your field office? how long did it take for them to schedule the interview (ie, between “case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” to interview notice and to actual interview day)?

I just finished my interview a couple of days ago. yes, I m also an EB1A applicant. The Employment Letter and recent months paystubs were requested. I was asked my job duties, the employer's address, and then simply asked 5-6 questions on security and background information. No worries.

my interview took 1 hour and a half. the IO wasn’t aware about the self sponsor I-140 and spent a lot of time questioning that. Didnt get the approval on the spot, case is under review.

@g b Thanks for sharing… they should know about EB1A based I-140, it’s strange. don’t worry it will work out. 99% of interviews get approved.

@S SS My I-140 was processed at TSC. Any updates on your interview?

@C Z No movement for me till now. it’s almost 7 months now. only I-140 was approved six months back.

@S SS My case remains pending after the interview. what's the status of your case now?

@C Z My case has not moved at all and has not gone that far as an interview. I had not submitted medicals when I filed in August 2022, so for me next communication will be a RFE and I am not sure when that will happen. my PD is current and it is October 2016.

@S SS Sometimes people are scheduled an interview and they can submit the medicals to the IO in person.
