EAD/AP Notice
My case is crazy right now. I supposedly file my EAD/AP in Nov 2024 with my lawyer, only for the notice to come in June 1st and it stated that “ I’m eligible for extension 540 days if the received date is before the EAD expiry date. the card expired 03/03 and they received it 03/17 not sure if my job can use it. can I still use it ?😩

@Pinky A To your current or future employer, you can show your expiring or expired EAD card, and an l-797C (Notice of Action or Receipt) for your EAD renewal application for an up-to-540 day automatic extension. The combination of the two documents is acceptable proof of legal work permit under section 8 CFR 274a.13(d). This is a law. Employer cannot fire you or deny hiring you for not having a renewed EAD card. Sometimes, employer does not understand, then you can clarify them about your work eligiblity under **8 CFR 274a.13(d)**. Hope it helps.

@K go1 thank you, but my only concern is that they stated in the notice that it is eligible if the received date is before my EAD expiring date. expiring date was 03/03 the received date on the notice was 03/17 that’s just my worry.

@Pinky A No worries. You can double check your employment eligibility via e-verify self-check. Here is official uscis link: https://www.e-verify.gov/employees/employee-self-services/mye-verify/self-check

@Pinky A Previous Expired EAD card + I765 Renewal Receipt Notice + Any photo ID (US Driver license or your passport) ...thay all you need to prove your I-9 verification for work eligibility to your current/future employer. That's it.
