EAD taking so long
UPDATE: approved today!
Hi everyone, it's been 211 days since I submitted my full vawa application and now I'm still waiting for my EAD. I wonder if the rfe that they asked for in May for my I360 is causing my EAD application to slow down or does it not have any relation? I haven't responded to the rfe yet because they asked for police clearance and I literally got the fingerprints done yesterday. they didn't give me a deadline for the rfe.

I am 219 days and still nothing, I did biometrics on June 8,2024, and no updates since.

they normally give you 60 days to send back the documents requested. probably that's it slow

My legal representative said there's no deadline. I also have a copy of the RFE and there's no deadline mentioned on the paper.

@bhole n Yes, my EAD has been approved yesterday. No, my lawyer didn't submit my RFE, I have to do it myself. I had to go to the police station and get my fingerprints. Now I have to mail the fingerprint card to IdentoGo.

@Fara R you could have gone straight to identoGo that’s what I did . scheduled on their website , went straight there, all it took was 10mins and waited two weeks and called them they gave me a number and I was able to print the letter(pdf) stating no criminal record, that’s what I sent to uscis with the rfe cos identoGo never sent the letter to my home address.
Also I also did not have no deadline on my 1st RFE on good moral character in 2021, the 2nd one had a deadline on it.

@Deby Bee I was not able to do it online because I have an expired passport (which IdentoGo told me they would not accept) and no other form of identification. Then my legal representative (Catholic Charities) had to ask the police department to accept my expired passport for the fingerprint card. So luckily I was able to find a solution. I can't get a new passport because I have to physically mail mine to my country and I can't do that at the moment.
