It needs to be approved first. Approval comes at time six months after filling

there is no guarantee when your i765 will be approved. some people get it in 2 weeks some people wait for months and yet some more never get one and directly receive their green card. as to SSN, if you ticked the box about it in your application forms it should arrive in the mail for you. sometimes it doesn’t and then you would have to take your EAD/green card to the SSA and request them to issue you your ssn.

@Happy C - SS didn't come for us. we had to go to SS office to get it. then it took 2 weeks to receive it.

There is a question in the application where it asks if you want USCIS to contact SSA and request them to issue you SSN. If you checked yes on that question you will automatically receive your SSN by mail. If you didn't then when you receive your EAD, you can go to the local SSA office and apply for one.

congratulations! did you get your ead in the mail already?

The card was delivered on March 8th and applied on the same day for my SS#, and the card delivered on March 15th
