Did you receive the receipt for the renewal? The receipt entitles you to a year and half extension automatically.

my EAD EXPIRED NOV 23, I filed for a renewal Feb 13, got receipt notice on Monday but for work show ur job the uscis 540days extension with proff that u applied for a renewal and u should be good to go

I was in a similar situation where it took forever to receive the receipt notific. Write a hand written letter to the office you filed. I included my 360, 485 application number, copy of current EAD, receipt of Fedex delivery notice etc…. anything to help them track my application and received a notice in the mail 3 days before my EAD expired. Writing that letter is essential, hope all goes well for you!!!

hi @Kanye East yes I received receipt for renewal with 180days extension. but the receipt number shows invalid online when I try to check status on uscis website. hence I worry if my employer might not accept it.

@gps . I wouldn't worry about that. I doubt your employer will actually go as far as checking the website. Furthermore you have a legal document from uscis. Whether it shows up as valid or not on the site is not your fault or problem. You have a legit piece of document granting you an extension

@gps . You just need to provide the receipt and tell them youre eligible for 180 days extension. The error part you can handle it with USCIS but since you have received the receipt, it is proof that you have applied for renewal & that you’re eligible for extension. I would not worry about the error. Just call USCIS and sort it out but you are absolutely good on the extension.

@Kanye East I have called the Uscis customer service multiple times but they always come back saying that this is probably happening because I have a vawa case and I need to write to Vermont. I was worried so ultimately I filled a new EAD renewal application through my attorney on may8th, hopefully I should get a receipt in a month with 540 days extension.

@gps thanks. for me it’s more than 49 days since I sent EAD renewal at Tempe lockbox. still haven’t receive any response from USCIS. what shall I do? any suggestion?

@pr g I just got my EAD approval. I recommend waiting for few more days as the receipts are all delayed. but if you have applied after oct23 for renewal you are by default eligible for 540days of extension. so you will not loose your job in any case

@pr g I had applied for EAD renewal on 8th May through my attorney and I received the receipt notice yesterday for it. it took over 40-45day to receive it. so your will be arriving soon too.
