EAD expedite request
So, I requested my ead be expedited based on humanitarian reason (nursing shortage) on March 24th. USCIS accepted my request yesterday and requested more information. I got a letter from my employer and submitted with my nursing license the same yesterday. How long does it take for USCIS to make a decision on a case like this, after they receive further documentation? I have EB3-2 at TSC. PD: February 10 Notice Receipt sent: February 14 Biometrics done: March 21 Expedite request: March 24 Additional information sent: March 29

is the evidence required to be submitted with 48 hours?
Brown 🤎 NegroMar 30, 2022
Yes and I submitted in less than 24 hours.

do you mind sharing how you communicated with the agent. because the agent I talked to always said that’s just for renewing EAD rather than. initial application. so hard

I let her know that I'm a RN and that the pandemic crisis has exacerbated the nursing shortage. That my hospital needs me badly and as many nurses as they can get. That any further delay is making them unable to provide the best care they would have loved to and costing them money. I then got list of options of reasons why they expedite to chose my situation. I chose emergency and humanitarian reason, I think No. 2. So she told me they would send my request to my service center and that I should give them 7 days to reply. They replied in 5 days, yesterday.

@negro it depends on the backlog. I'm an RN and did the same thing back in 2020 and I got an approval in less than 2 weeks. When I renewed June 2021 and expedited Nov 2021 because my ead at the time expired on Jan 10 2022, They did not expedite in time. I got my ead 3 weeks past expiration. The only reason why I was able to continue working while it was expired was because my ead category was updated to fall under the automatic 180 day extension. I hope you get it in time!!

@Lily Pad Thank you!

about ‘costing them money’, any suggestions regarding how to illustrate the financial loss criterion. any evidence? also any evidence to prove nurse shortage. really appreciate your help

The focus is nurse shortage. Get a letter from your employer to support that. You don't need any further proof, the shortage was the reason nurses made it to the schedule A category.

@ Bo the nursing shortage itself is listed on the immigration site as a shortage. The only proof I sent was the job letter from my manager and my license. I think everyone knows there's a shortage without having to provide documentation considering the current climate. My letter just stated I worked for the unit. I also submitted my own letter indicating the need for me to be at work. That was Sufficient enough for them to approve me.

Amen🙏🙏🙏. Did you submit CGFNS certificate, nursing license, offer letter and a letter from your employer?

Yna C.Apr 14, 2022
i submitted license, offer letter, latest paycheck, and letter from employer. not CGFNS no
Brown 🤎 NegroApr 14, 2022
Maybe you can still send your CGFNS certificate. My approval came days after I sent my offer letter & CGFNS certificate....I forgot to send them with my employer letter and the receipt notices, I sent CGFNS and offer letter 4 days after the 48 hours ultimatum had expired. Try sending CGFNS certificate and receipt notices for I-140, I-485, I-765.

Hello it’s been 16 days since USCIS received my EAD expedite request and 14 days since I e-mailed them the supporting documents they requested and still no updates. Anyone been on the same boat? Any suggestions whether I should call them and follow up? thank you!

@Why not email your CGFNS certificate to them?Leave no stone unturned.
