Ead expedite for healthcare worker .Effective Immediately
Posted today 12/28/2021 on USCIS website. If you are a healthcare worker
Who has a pending Employment Authorization Document (EAD) renewal application (Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization); and
Whose EAD is expiring within 30 days or less, or has already expired:
Please call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) to request expedited processing of your EAD renewal application based on your circumstance as a healthcare worker with an EAD that will expire within 30 days or has already expired. Be prepared to provide evidence of your employment to receive expedited processing. To determine whether you are a qualifying healthcare worker, see this DHS advisory memorandum (“Healthcare / Public Health” section, pages 7-9).

@ash ismarl hi even if you had expedited before and denied as a heath care worker(essential worker) with financial hardship. Should I expedite again?

yes its a new policy that was issued today so regardless of previous denial .As a healthcare worker you are eligible for expedite request

@Y H sure. I talked to the representative via Emma chat, she was rude, as all the reps are on a default. She asked me what category I fall into and sent me the list where there is no word about healthcare workers, I sent her a link about the new immigration law and she responded with “I am aware!” 🤣 and sent me referral code and told me I will hear from them in 7 days time.

I placed an expedite request today over the phone, citing this news about healthcare workers. The rep was quite helpful surprisingly - asked only for receipt number and email address, told me to expect an email in 5-7 business days and that’s it.
I really hope it works!

My expedite request is with vermont, I was told that I can't be expedited over the phone and that should write vermont

yeah, it’s renewal for me, but kind of complicated - I had both I-140 and an approved I-130 each with a separate I-485 and I-765. I have been working with EADs for the past 3-4 years…

I think whether it’s a new or renewal may not be that critical. Yes, the announcement clearly includes “for renewal”, but the rep today never mentioned that for me. I don’t know if my request will be granted, but it never hurts to try 🤷♂️
