Congratulations! What was the reason for requesting expedite EAD? Did you get any notice from the congressman office when they submitted your request to USCIS?

@ Kyra King I expedited for the reason of not being able to continue employment. My OPT was expiring soon so I needed the EAD to continue the current employment.

@Ben Sep 21 I-485 Filler I did get notice from congressman office on Dec 14 saying that the case was routed for expedite processing.

heyyy @fzsh fysh ! my OPT is also about to expire and my EAD from AOS is still pending with “Case received….” status. How do you expedite through congressman? Like what steps do i need to do first? thank you!

Hi, @fzsh fysh, I'm in the same situation and requested to expedite my EAD because my opt is expiring in 2 months. Did they request any additional documentation? I did it through the live chat with an agent.

@Jess M if biometrics is required, you need to be able to schedule that first. without biometrics, they can’t expedite for you. what you can try is to contact USCIS directly, Emma or Call, to make an expedite request. typically that triggers your biometrics appointment. after you are done with biometrics, you can contact congressman to request another expedite, just by going to their website and fill out two forms. each congressman’s website is different, but they typically have clear instructions.

@dee davis I see some people were able to get their interview scheduled before EAD approval, not in my case. my I-485 is still being actively reviewed.

@cami ab if you do it from Emma, they will contact you to require further evidence, if they require it. I have seen some people got approved without being requested evidence, but I don’t think that would have worked in my case. if asked by USCIS, a letter from your employer would help. is biometrics required for you?

thank you, @fzsh fysh! I did the expedite request yesterday through Emma and got the notice that it was denoed today because I didn't provide evidence. there was no way to do that through Emma, so not sure what is needed. I did biometrics back in October 26
