Thank you @Pablo, I did ask my attorney to expedite it in September, and he said he would. When I followed up with him about it a week ago, he said he never expedited and my turn should be soon anyway. I’m lucky he was right, I’ve seen some people post here (similar to my case) that they never even received their ead, that was my fear.

@megito, thanks! And no, I didn’t have to pay, the fee was waved. I only had to pay for I-485. Maybe yours take a bit longer because you had to submit rfe. I was never asked to submit rfe, I received my Prima Facie in May (well, I actually received in September but it was dated May, weird), and I did my biometrics in August. So far, I haven’t had any delays, except for the long wait times. What is your priority date?

the rfe was police clearance and good morals. mine case was so serious bcs my husband was arrested and has 5yrs probation on terrorist threat. i was taken to the shelter. I guess bcs i didn't pay for the form 485 bcs it was denied and my son document was return. I was told if i want to file it i must include the paper at the top but my attorney said i should wait till i get approved and start working. mine the shelter, police i have 4 police report of different incident but the background check was the rfe and froends who know me wrote about me

i also receive prima in may

Sounds like your case is complicated, but it’s strong. You have a good evidence since you went to a shelter and you have a kid, and your husband has a criminal background. Just have to hang in there and be patient. I’m sorry you had to go though that. When did you apply for work permit? My receipts are from February, and if yours are around that time, you should receive your work permit soon. The waiting times are 5-11 months, according to uscis website, and I got approved in 9.5 months just now.

Thank you very much. i apply in December but was received in January. few days later i receive the notice by mail. in April request for evidence. it was my fault bcs my attorney ask me to go and do the police clearance but was scared to go. she had to submit it without it. when they requested for it i had no choice but to go there. Mine was abuse bcs he was in jail for 6wks and pleaded guilty. i had to get a restraining order. just like my attorney said, you have all the prove and he is sfill on probatione

Why i have not received prima facie yet it’s been 9 months ? VAWA case USCIS received in March 4th later I received letter saying that they used my old biometrics I never received my work permit (EAD) but never received prima facie .. do I have to worry about anything , is it normal to not receive prima facie it’s been 9 months .appreciated.Thank you

@megito Technically it should be ready any moment because it’s almost out of normal processing times. Check uscis processing times, if your case receipt date is older than mentioned there, ask your attorney if she could call uscis and inquire about your work permit. @Peterson Thomas, sorry to hear that. I really do not know the answer to that. If you have an attorney, you should ask about Prima Facie. I’m not sure if it’s normal to not receive it or receive it late. That’s a document that basically says they briefly looked at your case and think you qualify, but you still have to wait in the line until it’s your turn. But they did wave the biometrics to a lot of applicants, and your work permit is still in the processing times window, so that’s normal too.
