EAD approved in 4 days (pending I-485 for 16 months)
Friends, my EAD got approved and I can stop crying and go back to work hopefully next week? I haven’t received any letters yet but will ask my employer to do an e verify to see if I can go back to work. My I-485 is still pending after interview.

@Ana A how come your old EAD expired? didn’t you get a 2 year?

@w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 I never initially applied for a EAD based on the I-485. My previous one was OPT based so it expired in July

@w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 I didn’t apply for it because I had already had pending EAD application based on OPT and I didn’t know I could have applied for both at the same time since the I-485 based EAD was free. Also I didn’t know the EAD application was free even if applied for separately if you had a pending i-485 application before April 2024.
