EAD and AP applied separately but approved together
hi all,
just want to thank you in advance because y’all have been so very helpful beyond your need to be.
I applied for I-765 and I-131 separately, with the I-131 filed about a month later. last week, they were both approved at the very same moment as I got notifications of approval on both applications at the same time. is there a chance that they will decided to produce a combo card even though they weren’t filed concurrently? I ask because according to USPS tracking, my EAD expected delivery is Monday. However, if my travel document is being produced separately, I’m really afraid of delays between ‘travel doc produced’ and ‘travel doc mailed’ based on experiences I read on this forum with some people saying it has taken a long time to receive the AP after approval. I was so excited about its approval because I could visit family for the holidays but now I’m so afraid it’ll take ages to receive. anyone have any experience or insight? thank you in any case 🙏🏼

I hope it is combo. I know you typically get combo when you file concurrently but they were approves at the same exact moment. my PD for EAD was May 26th and I-131 was in early July I think.

can you please update once you find out if you end up with a combo card? I also applied for travel document a few weeks later (just forgot about it) and I am wondering if it’s taking longer because they are going to do a combo card anyway. been waiting for EAD for 10 months and travel document for almost 9.5 months. thank you!

thank you so much. you hope is a combo card so you get 2 years validity end that you will receive it really quickly

hi pG unfortunately I received separate advanced parole document but in any case I am just grateful to have it. it is multiple entry valid for one year 🙏🏼 all the best to you.

@S Nakla I just had the same happen to me, filed separately and approved together. still waiting on EAD which was shipped today. did you get your AP in the same envelope? how long after EAD did you receive the AP? AP never updated past approved so I can’t seem to be able to track it. thanks in advance again

hey P G, i got them in two separate envelopes. I was so worried because as you said, the case status never changed after ‘AP document was produced’. I was told by USCIS rep that it doesn’t say they mailed it yet and thus “it still isn’t mailed” however, it still came in the mail without any change to case status. it was approved December 3rd and received December 13th.

thank you so much! my EAD should come tomorrow. I got approval notices today for both docs and it says it’s a combo card, also both approval notices have a 2-year validity. I am confused. we will see tomorrow when it comes, I can see only 1 envelope coming through informed delivery. 🤷♀️
