EAD - Texas?
The whole EAD process is frustrating me, as I am sure it is for others, for myself it’s a renewal and I just don’t know why there is such a delay. The biometrics were applied in March 2021 from my first application (which I got in 12 weeks in May 2020!!) and I haven’t heard anything - with exception of 2 denied expedite requests due to severe financial loss. Common sense would say these are the easiest and quickest to process….,,,,
They seem to be rejecting all EAD expedite requests at TSC at the moment, which makes me wonder what the point of them is - they are only accepting ‘emergent situations’……
Has there been any EAD - renewal or new from TSC approved recently? I saw one at 342 days which would put me in line for January 12th.
Has anyone gone over 12 months or has it all been within 12 months? Has anyone at this stage ever been rejected for an EAD?
My I485 is also current, filed in February 2020….. I140
approved in September 2020.
Frustrated.

Your case is quite close to mine. EB1A. Submitted i485 in Apr 2020, and submitted ead renewal in June this year. All this waiting for everything is excruciating. It’s crazy that 2021 is almost at an end and nothing. Good luck!

Same to you.👍🏻 Are you waiting on a renewal for your EAD too - when is your 180 days up? Your I140 approved too?
waiting_ foreverNov 29, 2021
Yes, waiting for renewal. I have until May 2022 on extension. My i140 was approved within 10 days on premium in 2019. NIW earlier this year (submitted same time). It has been more than 2 years since I started all this. Sigh.

people with no need sending expedited request abusing the system. that causing delay for genuine cases like yours. people sent application 87 days before want to hear back from uscis.

I have a similar timeline as you but EB3. I submitted my EAD renewal Nov 2020, but still waiting. My understanding from various posts is that TSC is focusing resources on i485 processing so in many cases they are not renewing EADs. In my case this has meant I have no form of work authorization since my EAD extension expired in October.

That’s crazy, have you submitted a service request as you are outside processing?

Rebecca W… funny thing is the i485s are barely getting adjudicated either at TSC. Not sure what is going on there.

I submitted one back in September and have submitted a second this week. I just got a generic response the first time so expecting the same again. They don’t seem to care that people are now out of employment. To have an expedited request approved you have to show severe financial loss and losing your job isn’t necessarily a good enough reason. You have to demonstrate you have depleted financial resources before they will expedite your case. I truly hope you don’t have the same experience. if it seems they aren’t going to issue the EAD renewal in time, my advice would be to move any money out of your checking account into a separate savings so you can show a couple of months of bank statements with low balance to help with an expedited request. I know this sounds bad, but this is the game everyone is playing to get their case processed.

@waiting_forever - I’ve noticed this too. none of the cases have changed on the lawfully app in months.

I sent a note to the Ombudsman today too. My GC is outside of normal processing and waiting on a response to that.

looks like Texas is working anymore with eads. I can’t see nobody being approved from there in terms of ead
