Driver's license
Hello I need the community's help with an issue. I have now made three trips to the Broward county DMV, each time having to wait at least a month for an appointment. Each time I visit they tell me I'm missing a document and each time I get it and return it's something else. I am trying to get a driver's license. I'm currently in the process of adjusting status. I completed biometrics in October. I brought all my receipts, I797, I485, I130, marriage license, birth certificate for myself and husband. Stamped I797 with biometrics attached, Passport, results of the written driver's test a copy of my driver's license from my country of birth. Now I go back today, the clerk is telling me I need to have a I130 approval notice. How would I have that if I'm currently adjusting status? Does anyone have any recommendations on what I could do? Thank you

Happy for you Rica Not sure why I'm having such a hard time. If I may ask, what state are you in?

go online and print your I-94. days you have been in and out of the country. it was a requirement here in Ohio. DMV is the worst experience as a legal alien. you pay full rice but your license validity is tied to your docs. real scam. especially if you have 4 others tied to my H1-B visa. it’s a 2hr ordeal everytime

The Clerk is 100% wrong, you don't I130 approval, ask to speak to a supervisor the next time you visit, some of the people don't know nothing.

@worth moo, I strongly agree with you, OP needs to request a supervisor because this totally seems to be discrimination and they are giving the OP the runaround. I'm in VA, no SSN yet and I went to get my DL immediately after beginning my AOS process. I made sure to print and bring all relevant documents plus information about immigrants obtaining DL in my specific state just in case they tried to give me the runaround. Luckily it was a smooth process.
