Don’t trust your lawyer blindly
One thing I have realized in the last few years of dealing with lawyers in my VAWA i485 journey is that you should not trust your lawyers blindly. Keep a check on the documents they send & timing of the documents and everything. We have a treasure of information online. End of the day, you’re just another check for them. It’s your life you’re dealing with. I made the mistake of trusting them blindly and now I am facing huge obstacles in my journey. The worst part is that it wasn’t even a serious thing, it could had been resolved with just a little attention of my lawyer, ages ago. You’re your best lawyer.

@Kanye East
with lots other cases, busy in TikTok and social media videos, they don't care..you're just a number. All they need is ur hard-earned money..that's it.

I did the same thing now I’m suffering from my previous lawyers mistake almost 10 years

@Kanye East I know that feeling. this stupid lawyer made me to write my own VAWA letter yet I paid him . besides that he filed i485 2 times full of mistakes. these lawyers are just interested in our money

@Kanye East I through you don’t have lawyer ?
Mrkvica M.Jun 30, 2024
@Kanye East i learned my lesson as well. There is so many immigrants in the system, and so many coming and they know that they can do whatever they want. You are your best lawyer and you have to be on top of everything!

Thank you @Kanye East for sharing this. I have mentioned this so many times on different post. The fact that you paid them doesn’t mean they will do the job as expected, we are the ones adjusting our status, not them. regardless of what happens, we are the subject here. I mailed all my applications myself, I get it from my lawyers office, read through and mail it to uscis myself. Atleast I’m 100% sure of what’s in my application. With all the emotional rollercoaster we are already going through, mistake is the least we want to do in our applications considering the long/extending timelines from uscis. Guys be on your toes atleast till your application is approved.

yep ....been through this with my lawyer he's always busy when I call takes really long to reply ....my husband filed when he was a PR then he applied for citizenship and got it ....my lawyer never updated his status one year after when I called uscis they had my previous address and my husband information was not updated ...so basically I'm doing their job for them and still paying them

Am so sorry most people had bad experience. I and my lawyer work hand in hand, before she send any documents she will request I come review it before sending it out and she did a wonderful job from beginning to the end of my journey. I really appreciate her good job. My attorney is Attorney NWADI NWOGU. Anybody in Houston TX will know her due to her awesome job and review.

my attorney have my 485 deniedtdue to a document I already gave to him to submit but he did not.so I stop working with him and handle it my self guess what i have my 10 years 5 months who he was so shamed because he told me my case is not going to be approved since then I learn my lesson we don't really need them.

@Kanye East any progress on your case

You’re absolutely right . I’m going to mention the name of one Attorney Sachin Sharma in New York . he is a big time scammer . trap you with wrong information to just get the money from you & then his office is a mess .

I Didn’t bother with a lawyer at all
Rols FJun 30, 2024
This is absolutely correct. I did a FOIA request, got my records from USCIS and discovered that my lawyer put a different name totally on my cover letter . what a shame!

@Kanye East what was your field office
Kanye EastJul 1, 2024
@Mr uscis blog I did when I applied first. Then I did everything on my own. After getting an NOID, I got one again. But the lawyer I first hired did not file documents correctly.

@F A Absolutely. Professionalism has gone in the gutter. Lawyers are just money sucking leeches.
Kanye EastJul 1, 2024
@Mrkvica M. Just a small mistake which could had easily been corrected is now a mountainous task, all thanks to the lawyer who submitted my petition.

@U d Yes. It’s sad because for us, our dreams, family, career is on the line. For the lawyers, it’s just another paycheck
Kanye EastJul 1, 2024
@ally ally And you have to call them & text them numerous times to get an answer. I am calling you & messaging you because I have doubts & questions, not because I want to take you on a date.
Kanye EastJul 1, 2024
@kassim yahya Is it on the path to approval? Or seems unlikely?
c mJul 1, 2024
@Kanye East do you know won what basis they decide who gets interview versus who doesn’t I just don’t understand how they decide
Vanderbilt DartulingJul 1, 2024
personally you can’t beat the system without him at the same they can fuck you up too now I’m already on 10k and they case just reset I don’t know how much they gonna put on it 🤷♂️😭 depression every day I open this app I’m just can’t anymore
Kanye EastJul 1, 2024
@c m I have no clue. They probably just randomly decide the interviews, I think, based on the experiences I have seen on this app and other sites.
Kanye EastJul 1, 2024
@Mr uscis blog How long has your case stretched for?
Vanderbilt DartulingJul 1, 2024

Interviews are not random. An applicant is invited for an interview when immigration officers need applicant's testimony or clarification about something.
