Domestic partner
Since we can’t get married. Can we establish a domestic partnership? would that affect my VAWA?

you can have a partner without marriage and that won’t affect your VAWA. But make sure you don’t have any joint documents as records.

what do you mean by “establish a domestic partnership”? in your own terms. And why are you so in a hurry to start something new legally on black and white, when you still in the process of legalizing your stay which is based on a previous relationship you once courted?

@bridges 5 so my partner have health insurance provided by my employer. Establishing partnership signed with power of attorney.

ok I will advice if there’s a way your partner can get their own health insurance to be on the safe side, let them get it on their own. Because your green card process right now is contingent on your previous marriage, so it’s best not to scuttle it. However you can ask your lawyer or seek legal counsel to be on the safe side.
