Not to everyone. Not sure what the requirements are, but some persons get the work permit and then travel after, while some get it together while some do not get the travel at all, they get the green card instead.

no. I have my EAD (approved day of biometrics) and waiting on AP which now says “taking longer than expected” after 4.5 months.

in my case I received AP At 8.0 months mark. currently I’m waiting for my EAD. It has been a year and 1 month now…

@w s what is your country of origin? I have noticed that people from Canada and other developed countries get the EAD’s approved in a day or two after their Biometrics appointment.

I am Canadian. have had multiple work visas here before so I think that’s why. it was just a criminal check update and they were good

@w s It’s mostly the Canada part. I have had student visa and work visa(for 7 years) here too but they don’t approve it that quick unless one is from Canada or similar countries

yes Canada and some other countries have background checks linked with the US so it’s automated.
