The last I checked, you can use your EAD card to get a dl in any state. Look up your state’s requirement. Proof of Identity: Examples include a birth certificate, passport, or permanent resident card in this case your EAD card. Proof of Social Security Number: A Social Security card or a W-2 form. Proof of Residency: Utility bills, bank statements, or lease agreements.

I also applied for dl and they gave me 5 years even though I had C31 for 2 years I gave the 5 years so that I can have more time on my license and I got approved. wishing anyone the best. try other dmv locations you might be lucky

I had my license from NYC as it was about to expire and I have shifted to NJ I went to DMV with old License, bank statement & credit card statement. with EAD & SSN
