@Huas N that's actually is really bad. if USCIS approved someone while not being current then later on GC can be revoked. Most likely it will happen once person applies to get citizenship.

it depends. If you got approved before your PD is current, great! It doesn happen often but just make sure you were approved in the correct category you applied for. Dont be stupid and submit an enquiry to uscis and be like “hey you guys approved mine before my date is current”, just be quiet and take it! If you got approved in the wrong category, return it ASAP or it will for sure be found out in citizenship test.

It is much safer to return; most of the time, USCIS revokes your green card. And in the citizenship test and green card renewal, they will notice this.

that is untrue. Uscis officer wont be asking like “so did you get approve when your pd was current?”. No! Also who would remember if your case got approved on what date and if it was current at that time. All they care about is was it approved in the same category when you applied for. Dont overthink. This is the information my lawyer gave me before.
