Do I get another/new social number after receiving green card
hello Everyone. so I received a social when I applied for EAD. I now have my green card, do I still use the initial social number or am I getting a new one?

u can change or replace the card since the old one is flagging only authorized with ead , sometime jobs can be cooky with it.

You don’t get a new number. You need to get a new card if the old one has a condition on it. You can get that condition removed such as “valid with work permit only” to prevent future problems. Once you’re assigned a number ….it’s your’s forever. .

I had one with the condition since 2012 until August 2021. SSN is given once and it does not confirm your work authorization I-9 does

Tax ID is different from SSN.

it does come with an ITIN number which is a nine digits as ssn

so my main question is do i get a different number when my ssn is ready? n maybe discontinue the ITIN that I currently have

I don’t know about discontinuing the ITIN, but SSN is different and when you get your EAD card you should get a SSN. Yes, you should get a new SSN when ready…!!

Answer is No! You have already been assigned a SSN. It stays with you for life.
