divorce before 10 years green card
hi , anybody has experience or knows anyone who divorced before removal of conditions? yesterday I was yelled at and called an ugly whore because I dared go out ( Times Square) with a female friend. and I had saved a male coworker’s number on my phone without my husband’s permission. it’s too toxic and marriage counseling is not even helping. I want to go to a woman’s shelter today and start the divorce process. I’m just so scared I will lose my green card if there’s a divorce

sorry to hear. I think you should go to the shelter and retain all the evidences of abuse for use when required. Involve a lawyer if you feel the need to.

get all the evidence you can try to record it as well you will be just fine you should never sit in abusive situation because of a green card be strong and do what you need to do

there is a process where you can filled by yourself without him in case of divorce make sure you have all possible evidence and talk to a good lawyer

Good faith marriage waivers are approved almost all the time for I-751. Just submit your divorce decree and a lot of strong marital evidence and you will be fine. sorry for what you are going through

You can file your i751 based on divorce waiver but be sure to make sure he signs the divorce petition. You can go with extreme cruelty too. And you’ll need psychological evaluation just incase
