Dismissal of Removal proceedings without a lawyer
I've observed a recurring pattern where individuals seek help but may not reciprocate when others need assistance. Let's remember that we're a community facing various struggles, and mutual support is crucial. If anyone has experience navigating a removal proceeding case without a lawyer and could share steps or a template, your insights would be greatly appreciated. Many in our community can't afford the costly attorney route, so any advice or resources could make a significant impact. Let's foster a supportive environment for everyone in need.

DHS lawyers maybe agree terminating removal proceeding without need a lawyer, but are individuals able to represent themselves in front of the immigration judge? I terminated mine using lawyer.

@Mellica G thank you for this!
I am going through this issue in where all my stuff is paused due to a removal proceeding that I didn’t know about. My master hearing is in may 15th and the information I got is that I need my I130 approved before I can try a Prosecutorial Discretion with DHS/ICE and ask the Immigration Court to dismiss my case.
My question is, did anyone tried to dismiss their case before the master hearing or even before having their I130 approved? good luck to us all and god bless!

ok quick update:
my wife (petitioner) and I called Emma and asked for the status of our I130 and explained we were trying to getting it approved asap so we could file a motion to get it cancelled and then have my I485 reopened. The agent was super helpful and offered to expedite our case. She offered 5 options to justify the expedite and by her tone it felt like option 2 (something like humanitarian reasons) was the one to go. She finished explaining they have 7 business days to get back to us either asking for evidence or to talk about our case. I know not all agents have the heart but sometimes they are really meaning to help out so don’t give up folks. I will keep you updated. much love

@Mash lah there is nothing that a lawyer can tell a judge that you can’t. nobody can tell your story like you. my biggest issue is the layout and verbiage to write the actual
motion to terminate.

@Lena P did you guys just asked at Master Hearing or did your lawyer also submitted the motion in writing?
