i'm sorry, USCiS is so unpredictable. Did you get an i130 approval? Also communicate with ypur lawyer right away. Hope it will be fixed soon.

oh I am so sorry, are you f2a, right? maybe it was cuz the visa bulletin was delayed to 2018. depends your PD, Hopefully you get the letter with the reasons. don't believe me but I read for you get an approved green card the visa bulletin need to be current on your Priority date table A

@Monifah Donaldson if you out of Status you can only be approved if your spous is a US citizen, if the lawyer was good enough he/she would have known that. I will advice you change the lawyer to a more experienced one.
