Denied Employment with valid EAD
hi everyone! just circling back to see if anyone had any luck finding employment in the aviation industry with only EAD? I have an unexpired foreign passport and B2 visa so travel is of no issue to me. I recently got my EAD approved and happily applied to a few regional airlines [just to keep INT’L travel to a minimum.]
I was able to pass all the online interviews for Flight Attendant positions, but today - I traveled all the way to another state for a F2F interview only for them to reject me because I do not have a Green Card. I thought EAD has no limitations? Please leave your thoughts and any advice helps. Thank you!

@menla seego as far I know once you apply to adjust your status your visa becomes irrelevant reason being adjusting your status voids your status as a B2. you need to demonstrate that you are able to work and enter and exit the us without any restrictions. learnt that from a friend who works in the aviation industry. only
your green card can help you with that situation @menla seego sorry to hear tho

Ahh, I see @K W 🇹🇹 It’s just because their requirements listed “US passport OR a foreign passport with applicable visas” made me even apply. I’m so sad, but I won’t give up.

@menla seego really sorry to hear you had to travel for that experience. my friend had something similar happen to him. even with his advance aparole he was unable to work with the airline until he got his green card and reapplied. he did get hired

I work as a pilot with EAD and AP for an airline here. You can be a flight attendant when you get your AP

Ah, I see @Gooner Jam thank you for that! I did end up applying for AP based on @K 🇹🇹 advice about my visa status. Thank you all and will try again once I get my AP.

@Gooner Jam Can you tell what airline you work for? Do you travel to Canada and back to US with EAD AP?
