this wont be hard to address at all. i have seen people with worse cases get approved. You need to first authenticate your Nigerian divorce, a lot of people have fixed this issue and gotten their approvals. Search 'Nigerian divorce' in the search bar here on lawfully (make sure to read the comments) and you will get useful info there. I think ive seen people share nigerian lawyer contacts in previous posts For the inconsistent timeline, clearly read the inconsistencies they mentioned and provide your explanation with attached evidence as reference. Evidence could be bills, lease document, text messages, etc You can even use chatgpt for this to draft a detailed explanation. Lastly, get a very good lawyer to review and update your response as needed. Ensure they quote relevant law cases where needed. Good lawyers i know include Olaleye law and Chidolue Law. Avoid EM Wafula aka vawaqueen on IG. Shes not very detailed as she should be. Make sure you do your own research and work hand in hand with your lawyer. Dont just leave it to your lawyer, take charge of your case. Review everything your lawyer puts together very thoroughly. Because ive seen lawyers make careless mistakes on peoples cases. This is your last chance to prove your case to USCIS and get this denial overturned

@franny zee e m wafula is my lawyer and I’ve only ever spoken to her twice since 2022, she took my $20,000 and never answers her phone and messed up my documents im thinking to report her

unless your marriage in Nigeria was a court marriage or in the catholic church, very few churches give the federal government civil certificate. you can file for the divorce from here. that's what someone i know had to do with a similar situation. best of luck

Find a reputable lawyer in Nigeria that do run around for you. it will cost you, if you can pay for it. clarify the divorce, send it to Abuja ministry of foreign affairs, pay for express confirmation and once verified. Ensure to ask the person helping you in Nigeria to send you clean scanned copies of it before sending through DHL to you and you should send to NY general consulate for Nigeria with an application once they are able to verify and confirm the genuineness. they will give you verified letter, then immediately send it to USCIS before the timeline given close. it will cost time and money. also, all the courier you should use, should be express like same day or next day. I hope this helps. lastly, please handle most of this like you don’t have a lawyer to help you even if you have one. it’s your case, you know it better than anyone. It’s your own life & it’s business as usual for majority of the lawyers. all the best and good luck.

@franny zee I’m her client too and she spoke to me once in 2021 Dec and I got rfe she didn’t talk to me and she respond to my rfe one week before the dead line and I don’t even get chance to look in to my document. only staff will talk to you and whenever you call them you have to explain from beginning. worst of the worst my case is denied and she didn’t talk to me. I have tried multiple to reach her but but nope she didn’t. her staff asked me to file to reopen my case then only she will talk. and asked for 2500$

If you had your court wedding in Lagos, then good for you. Lagos & Abuja have portal for information verification. please be very fast about it. Your Divorce must be Authenticate by the high Court in Nigeria, and must have E-verification access online, USCIS must do E-verification online and Confirmed your Divorce is Authentic, and they also do direct verification from the Court You did the Divorce in Nigeria. Years ago I have seen some Applicants here mentioned they had same type Denial due to Divorce Certificates, and they got a Lawyer, at the end they got approved of their GC.

@ayel yael yes it is improtant, there are only few people like that, that haven’t gotten the PF and got approved, if you dont have a PF it’s probably a sign that you would need to fix something and speak to a different lawyer maybe or work on your case
