For all service centers, the processing time is 16.5 months. And for NBC,it’s 34.5 months. All service centers like Texas, Nebraska comes under Service Center Operations (SCOPS). When did you file it?

@M H USCIS won't process the I-824 until I-485 is finalized. My I485 is pending. So I think they will process 824 only after my gc gets approved. Mine is at Texas

@find eb no I filed 485 on June 2022 and 824 on June 2025. My date got retrogressed and became current in this Jan only.

@J Z did they approve your I-824 or not yet. I think I am in the same situation, they asked me to withdraw I-485 inorder to proceed with I-824

@Fatima Ch my I 485 is at field office still pending. I 824 is for our son. I 485 was filled for him as well on 2022. But later he had to leave US. When we became current on January, we send a letter to Uscis saying that we have filed I 824 to convert him filed I 485 to consular processing. We didn’t withdraw his 485 because if we withdraw, he may lose his locked cspa age benefit. He’s 22 now. Upon receiving our letter, Uscis sent a letter stating that they are closing his I 485.

@Fatima Ch are you filed both 485 & 824 for your spouse?

@J Z Yes, filed both I-485 and I-824 for my spouse. I-130 was already approved, and I filed the I-824 to request consular processing. USCIS recently sent me a notice regarding I-485 asking me to withdraw it, and I responded to the notice confirming that I want to withdraw the I-485. I’m currently waiting for USCIS to finish that process and hopefully continue with the I-824. I-824 was filed in January 2026, and I’m hoping the I-485 withdrawal/closure will allow the I-824 to move forward.
