CR-1/IR-1 Case at NVC - US Citizen Sponsoring a Spouse
My case is currently at NVC waiting for an interview date. We became documentarily qualified on 2/22/23. My PD is 12/6/21. My spouse is in India. Raised an inquiry with NVC & below is their response. Thought to share it. Anyone else is also waiting on NVC or have experience they'd like to share? #NVC #CR-1 #IR-1 #CR1/IR1 #Mumbai
This case is documentarily complete, which means the NVC has all the documents we requested. Your application is waiting for an interview appointment, where a consular officer will adjudicate it.
The U.S. Embassy or Consulate provides the National Visa Center (NVC) with a list of available appointment dates and times. We will schedule your case for an interview appointment when an appointment date is available. We schedule appointments on a first in, first out basis. After we schedule your appointment, we will forward your case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General in MUMBAI (BOMBAY)
We cannot predict how long it will take to schedule your appointment, but we will notify the applicant, the petitioner, and your attorney (if applicable) when an appointment is scheduled. Your case will stay at NVC until that time.

Yes, i used to receive these emails upon submitting an inquiry.
i tried to expedite as well, but they were not convinced. however once your cause because DQ it usually take two to three months to get an interview appointment and it all depends on the embassy’s work load

Hello Naz, are you still waiting as well? I have been waiting for 3 months. I know Mumbai is one of the busiest consulat. And yes they definitely aren't convinced. There were 2 deaths in my family in Feb & March.. my grandpa & my husband's mom. I even attached the death certificates lol. But yeah received that generic response from NVC.

My case was documentarily qualified on 2/22/23. The same date as urs. My PD is January 22, 2021. My spouse is currently in Yemen and his appointment will be Djibouti.
It has been 3 months and 10 days and still no appointment. I emailed NVC and that we literally the same response I received. I don’t know what else to do. The whole process has taken 2 years and 4 months. It’s mentally and emotionally draining 😞 #NVC #CR-1 # IR-1.

It has been 5 months no appointment yet? @CD Soriano
CD SorianoJun 10, 2023
@Alex Smith yup still no appointment.. it’s the same response we’re getting every 60days.

@Alex Smith @CD Soriano Hope we'll get the interview appointment date soon. I believe we'll get the appointment date 3 - 7 months after we became documentarily qualified. You think they'd prioritize US citizen sponsoring a spouse. But nowadays you never know w the NVC & consulat.
