Could anyone share your experience?or some advice
Hi everyone, I’m wondering if anyone has actual experience with this situation. I was granted asylum, currently have a valid A5 EAD, and I have an asylum-based I-485 pending while I’m waiting for my green card. I have no criminal record and, as far as I know, I don’t have any removal/deportation order. My question is: If ICE stops or questions me while I’m waiting for my green card, can they detain me even though my asylum has already been granted and I have a valid A5 EAD? If anyone has been in a similar situation, I would really appreciate hearing what actually happened.

no they cannot, just show proof of your granted status

ICE should be able to verify your immigration record through your A-number. If you were already granted asylum and have valid proof of your asylee status, such as your I-94/asylum approval and A5 EAD, a pending I-485 by itself does not mean you are unlawfully present. If you have no criminal issues or other immigration complications, you should generally be fine.
