Convincing Spouse to Visit
Hey folks! We are inching on toward our two year case anniversary in May and my husband has not been to the USA since 2022. Since he lives in Canada and we’re doing consular processing, I’ve told him many times that he’s okay to travel here for a brief visit but he doesn’t believe me. He is scared to death that he’s going to be detained, asked a million questions, and throw our case in jeopardy. I empathize but I think he’s overreacting. What suggestions do you have to get him over this fear? I love Canada but I’m ready for him to come here again (hopefully for good) this summer.

yes he can travel has a tourist! I went this year to visit my family (I'm from El Salvador) and the officer at the port just ask me if I have a process and I said yes. then just ask me for de return ticket, I show him and he said: welcome!

hey- as long as he can show strong ties to Canada and that he won't overstay. for example I got a letter of employment from my job to show that I am on leave and I got a copy of my lease agreement as proff of ties . I am in the UK and I have visited twice since I-130 😊 You are allowed to travel to the US and it won't jeopardize the pending petition - I hope that helps
