Write to USCIS to send you’re approval notice, it will have your NVC case #

congratulations

@Dunn O that’s what we received: The above petition has been approved. As the petitioner requests, we have sent the petition to the U.S. Department of State National Visa Center (NVC), 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth. The NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action, including the collection of necessary forms and documents. It also determines which consular post is appropriate to complete visa processing. The NVC will then transfer the approved petition to the consular post once processing has been completed and an interview has been scheduled at the Embassy or Consulate. The NVC will contact the beneficiary of this petition with further information about immigrant visa processing steps.

I am not sure why someone is saying write to USCIS for the approval notice and that the approval notice has the NVC #. That's absolutely wrong. After your case status updated to 'sent to department of state' you should have received welcome emails in 24 hours. Fill in the NVC public inquiry form, use the USCIS case number in place of where they ask for the NVC case number, and ask about the welcome email. They are quite responsive and typically get back in 2-3 working days

@Shagufta T where they supposed to update the status sent to department of state?
Komal 123Feb 22, 2025
@Shagufta T more than 40 days we are waiting for NVC welcome letter
Zuzanna Davis Feb 22, 2025
@Komal 123 I was talking to people who were approved one week earlier than me and my husband and they already approved a week before us and got already an email

I’m sorry this is happening to you, it’s so sad that you have to wait 22days for welcoming letter, I’m in Poland 🇵🇱 too and we were approved on the 6th of February and we received our welcome letter via email a week later

@Zuzanna Davis the status update happens in the USCIS account. it’s the last update you’ll see there. the case will be marked closed at that point as it is then out of USCIS’s hands and into NVC’s

@Shagufta T they have not gotten the notice, they just know it has been approved, seemingly. They haven’t gotten the welcome mail too. Have you tried accessing a case at NVC with USCIS case #??

@Dunn O how do they know without a notice it’s been approved? and the notice never has the NVC number on it. ever.

@Shagufta T on their timeline on the website or inbox, maybe case tracker🤷🏾‍♂️. They said it was approved, they said others have been getting theirs. I-797 is the notice (research); that is different from the approval.

when I chatted with agent lives from USCIS, they said the cases was send already to the NVC and NVC said they were waiting for approval notice and still on case creation over months and years. They said again waiting for the embassy for the adjustment. Let just wait forever then for welcome letters or the interview appointment.
