consular processing
if you are sent through consulare processing does that mean you have to go back to your home country for interview and come back or is it done in the US???

consular processing means you are not in the US, persons in the US would usually be doing a Adjustment of Status

if you opt for consular processing the Beneficiary of the petition has to go outside to the country where the interview will take place . you will need to specify this country in the i130 application typically it has to be the home country of the Beneficiary unless you are a Beneficiary from Iran south Korea or a country where us consulate is not present. if the Beneficiary has overstayed in usa be careful with consular processing as they maybe Subject to readmission bar of 3 to 10 yrs depending on the length of overstay
