Hi! First, make sure your priority date is current. I had the same issue - My priority date was current and my case was stuck at NVC. I sent an inquire + one follow up to NVC asking them if there is anything they still need from me to keep my case moving forward. After the third inquiry, I received an invitation letter :) I guess you just have to be persistent. It also helps to mention that you’ve been talking to an attorney.

@Nadine P my i-130 got approved from uscis on aug 7 and i got my DQ on september 21st. Its only been a couple days but I just dont want NVC to take forever when the embassy officers told me themselves that they have available spots for interviews. Do you think i have to send inquiries soon and if so when should I? Also what type of visa did you have and how long did it take until u got ur interview date?

I started sending my first inquiry after 6 days which was their average response time at the time. It took a total of 3 weeks to get the interview date, I’m not sure it would’ve been this quick if I had not written to them

NVC schedules appointments on a monthly basis and they finished scheduling the appointments up to mid to late August. I think you have another month left becore you get your IL

@dina demii is your husband resident or citizen , because if he is a resident you have to wait until your pd is current on visa bulletin

In case this helps, here is the email I sent them: Dear Sir or Madame, My name is and my case number is . According to the message I received over the CEAC portal, my case has been documentarily qualified since . I also received an email that day, telling me that an interview date will be schedule at the embassy in . After reviewing the next steps for my case with our attorney last week, we reached out to the embassy to see if my case was forwarded to them, but while they seem to have availability for interviews, they did not receive my case yet. They advised me to send an inquiry to NVC and ask why the status for my case has not been marked as "IN-TRANSIT" and resolve any issues that might still be open. Is there anything you need from us to keep moving the case forward? You can contact my husband and me at any time at . Thank you in advance for your reply! Have a great weekend, I do think you can probably wait for 2-3 weeks before you send your first inquiry, since it seems that that’s how long it takes for everyone.

@Yasmine H im a us citizen and hes a north macedonian citizen. I try to understand the visa bulletin and what priority date is but I cannot understand them for the life of me😭

@dina demii the visa bulletin is not applicable for you your category''ir1 or cr1'' is not mentioned on it , for your case you have to fill the I 130 and k1 too , then after approval NVC stage you have to get all your documents qualified if the I 130 is approved you will get your interview depending on the backlog of your embassy , if k1 is approved you have to schedule your interview on your embassy web site

@Yasmine H so i just searched up what k1 is and it said it was for fiance to come and marry in the us, however, i already got married in north macedonia and legally changed my name here in the us. So, if everything got approved at uscis and at nvc, and all im waiting for is the interview, i should be receiving an email soon right, since the embassy said they have available spots?

Dina, do yourself a favor and get a lawyer. Based on what you’re telling me I think you probably need to fill out an I-130 and process through the consular process. Then you get to wait for about a year. Then your case gets sent the national visa center will wait for about 45 days. Then they will send it to the embassy at some unknown timeframe for your interview for your husband .

@Sabrina Dias Oh yea I had an immigration office worker help me on my I-130. I already filled out the i-130 and the nvc documents required and got document qualified. i was just wondering roughly how long it would take for the interview email !

@dina demii I think it will take max 3 months after DQ or less for you to have an interview

@Moe Attayeb try sending inquires and also email your embassy to see if they have any interview dates available just so you can tell nvc if they do
