Conditional green card with extension pending 10 years card
Has anyone experienced any issue traveling outside the country with expired 2years conditional green card and letter of extension. I have been blessed to travel to a few countries outside of the us with these documents with no issues, however i recently went on a quick short reunion trip with old highschool friends in Vancouver BC, this will be my second time in Canada, on my way back to USA after my trip the officer at the airport asked me pretty standard questions and then proceeded to excort me back to the waiting room to be questioned further this really freaked me out because i wasn’t sure why. He even asked if i have an arrest warrant, i wasn’t sure what i would be arrested for, i’ve never had any problems with the law, that just put me in a heightened stress level. I texted my husband just to let him know i was being held back for questioning, while waiting for what seems to be like forever i was finally called upon and he started asking about my home address, what i do for a living, what school did i attend, who did i meet up with in Vancouver and then finally asked me my husband’s name. At the end he let me go but i still don’t know what warranted that.
No explanation, i understand they are doing their Job but it really freaked me out. I called my husband right away freaking out, for a second i thought they would contact him, but they didn’t. I love to travel alot, actually my work entails traveling but after that experience i’m like really scared like they make come up with some rule of sort. I don’t even have the heart to even go anywhere anymore, I really hope my green card come soon. 🥺Please share your experience with immigration while traveling
