how soon do I have to renew my EAD, it will expire February 2024. I heard EAD is taking up to a year, I have a job with DOE and really don't want to lose it. can I start the process now?

As far as I know, you should not apply before 6 month. My EAD took 440 days to approve. Check USCIS website, there was an update that the new EADs come with 180 extensions automatically. @shari Mc
