Clarification on form i-485, pg 3, q12, I-94
On Form I-485, page 3, question 12 refers to the Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record. Should we provide the original I-94 information that we used when entering the U.S., or should we use the new departure record number issued by USCIS after being granted asylum?

@hope fully how did you get the new one?
Oliver FarmJun 9, 2025
@A K how did you get the new i94 after your granted asylum?
Bred JohnJun 9, 2025
@Oliver Farm they send with approval notice, it is small white paper with departure number.
Oliver FarmJun 9, 2025
@Bred John I did not get that. was your asylum approved by an immigration judge?
sarah heipsJun 9, 2025
@Oliver Farm if you got approval by court you need to do an info pass with your USCIS to get your I-94 or get an appintement with your court to get I-94 whatever is fastest for you. if you got to USCIS you need to go with proof of asylum grant

@Oliver Farm I was granted asylum by IJ. So I made an appointment on USCIS website about my i94, but after a month or so the i94 was delivered by UPS. I was surprised since I didn’t expect it.

@Oliver Farm no by uscis

@sarah heips thanks for this info

@A K thanks for your reply. when you went to the website did you have to fill out a request before they sent it you? and you had mentioned you did not submit it with your i485 application.
A KJun 9, 2025
@Oliver Farm yes, I filled out some kind of request and USCIS was supposed to call me. They never did, and then a month later the i94 card was delivered by UPS or FedEx I don’t remember exactly. So I think i94 was issued automatically and sent to me. Other people I heard had to make an appointment with USCIS and get it from their office physically. So not sure about your case.
And yes I asked my lawyer if she needed my i94 with asylum granted status, she said she doesn’t need it and filed i485 without it. You might want to include it, it won’t hurt.
