citizenship
Hi,
I got my green card through a DV lottery in Sept 2016, but moved to US in Sept 2019. I am still living and working here in Jersey City.
I don’t know if I am eligible to apply for citizenship after I continuously reside in U.S. until Jun 2024, or they may reject my application because of moving in after a three years of delay?
please advise if any similar experience.
thank you

I am in the same situation as I got my GC in 2014 but didn't start living here until Mar2019. Need to wait to apply until 4 years and 1 day since you entered the US. For me, that will be Mar2023.

the point is what happens to applicants like us who have all the conditions but entered US years after they got their GC. you telling that’s not an issue I believe?

in terms of timeline, I’ve heard 5 years continuous stay minus 90 days to submit I-400. 4 years plus one hearin from you for the first time.

Hello Iraj,
What I know is that you can apply if you have lived in the United States for the 5 years immediately prior to your Citizenship Application. In that case, since you moved to the US in Sept 2019, you should be able to apply in Sept 2024. Take into account you must be physically present in the United States half of the time to be eligible to apply.
