You are a citizen if you are given a certificate of citizenship. Automatic citizen is only if you were born in US.

this is exactly like my case. my dad is a usc, he file for me and I came when I was 3months to turn 18. I came automatically with a green card. I held that green card for 5 years then apply n600 to have my certificate of naturalization. this is exactly how your progress will be like. even if you come here when you already turn 18, they will look at when he petitioned for you, and if at that time you were 17 that means you are a usc but you most held a green card for 5 years before they give you the certificate of naturalization form n600

if you have a uscis account, try to file n400 when you enter basic information they will tell you that you need to file n600 instead, if they don't say that then continue with n400. now if you file n400 paper form, they will tell you you filed the wrong form and will not refund you,. ohh how did you apply n400? online or paper

I was about 5 when my dad became usc then he petition me when I was 16 it got approved when I was 17 and I traveled 3 month before I turn 18. I came here in march 2014 they sent my green card in April 2014 then in 2019 I applied n600, take oath and have my certificate of naturalization then applied for passport

if you did n400 online and it didn't give you an error message then you are good. when I did mine I started with n400 enter all my basic information it gave me an error message that I should do n600 instead because am a citizen already that I only need a certificate
